Working Bees
Working Bees are scheduled throughout the year, usually 9am on Saturday mornings as per dates shown on the Race Calendar.
All members including parents and guardians of junior sailors are encouraged to help out at 2 or 3 of these per year.
The working bee (usually 2-4 hours) is typically lead by the President, Equipment Officer or Greenkeeper (if one was appointed) and involves allocation of tasks such as:-
- Mowing lawns & doing edges (304 Prince Charles Parade).
- Mowing lawns & doing edges (310 Prince Charles Parade).
- Mowing lawns & doing edges (7-9 Ward Street).
- Mowing the footpaths outside clubhouses.
- Mowing the rigging area (if the council has not done it recently). Be careful not to damage dunes or beach foliage.
- Plant, shrub trimming and weed maintenance near the entrance to the clubhouse.
- Club cleanup/repairs - change rooms deep clean, clean windows, repair chairs, cleanup back room etc.
- Boat(s) & boat mandatory safety gear maintenance.
- Trailer maintenace.
- Tractor maintenance.
- Mowers / Edgers / Ride on Mower maintenance.
- Race equipment (flags ashore, boat flags, buoys etc) maintenance.
- Garage(s) cleanup / tidy-up.
- Other equipment maintenance and tasks around the club as per directions from the KCC President or Equipment Officer.
